Meet Sarah
“I’ve always been known as the ‘yes’ friend. The one who will say yes to a last-minute trip to Alaska or a 100-mile trek in Europe or meeting up with 20 strangers in Peru, all true. If a friend mentions it, I want to make it happen. More than that, I want to provide as many opportunities for women to get out there and see this gorgeous world around us. Which is why I love hosting women’s trips! It is incredible watching strangers become friends over the course of a few hours. My goal with this rafting trip is to encourage YOU to try something new with a bunch of besties who want to do the same.”
Meet Caitlynn
”I went rafting for the first time two summers ago, and I actually can’t shut up about it. I wasn’t sure if I would like it because I was worried about being trapped on a boat all day and feeling bored. BUT it was the time of my life. I got to sit on the boat, enjoy some fun beverages, take in the beautiful scenery, jump in the water, and spend the night under the stars. It was truly a life-changing trip, and now I’m trying to convince all of my friends that we need to do yearly rafting trips. So FRIEND, come with me and let’s go on an adventure!”
Here’s what to bring…
There are a few personal items you’ll need to bring! Don’t worry, we’ll send ya a complete packing list when you register. Otherwise, you’ll want to pack things like:
- Toiletries and sunscreen (+ your favorite sun protection gear)
- Shoes that can get wet, like old tennies or river sandals
- Clothing! Including comfy options for wet conditions (like water-wicking tank tops and swimsuits), options for dry and nighttime conditions, warm outer layers, and camp shoes
- Sleeping gear (think: sleeping bag + pad, a pillow, and a flashlight)
- Fun extras like cards, fishing gear, binoculars, or a good book
- Cash or a card for an adult beverage at lunch (if you’re into that kind of thing) and gratuity for our incredible guides
- Your smiling face and a good attitude
We'll take care of the rest!
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a good trip for beginners?
Absolutely! I (Sarah) have never been on an overnight rafting trip, but Caitlynn (my co-host and a trusted adventure buddy) has gone on plenty! This three-day, two-night trip is the perfect introduction for anyone who wants to start rafting, but it’ll also be fun for those who have been rafting before.
Is this a good trip to join solo?
Yes, please! You’ll meet plenty of new adventure enthusiasts and bad-ass ladies on the trip. We’ll spend our time laughing and adventuring together – the best kind of bonding!
Where are we meeting up beforehand?
You can meet us at the Deschutes Rafting Co. Headcarders the morning of the trip, or spend the night at Oasis Cabin Resort in Maupin the night before!
So, tell me about the food…
Deschutes Rafting Co. provides all meals from lunch on your first day to lunch on your last day. They offer a spread of in-season meals, including fresh fruits, veggies, and meats. Expect to see breakfasts like blueberry pancakes or breakfast burritos. Lunches include build-your-own sandwiches and wraps. For dinner, we might enjoy things like grilled steaks, tri-tip, tacos, or kebabs, along with salads and apps. We finish every night off with dessert – because duh! DRC does its best to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Please let us know ahead of time if you have any concerns or needs!
Let’s talk money…
We want every adventure to feel like a meaningful investment in yourself, so we do our best to keep costs as low as possible.
This includes everything mentioned above, including meals, rafting guidance and gear, and your tent! There’s a $100 non-refundable deposit to save your spot.
