While this weekend getaway is great for bachelorette parties, a golden girls weekend away, or a romantic weekend, the city is also a great place for families.

Exploring the Gnome Trail

The Gnome Trail is one of Seabrook’s most iconic and possibly cutest trails. The short trail in the heart of Seabrook takes visitors along a whimsical path in the Old Mill District. Along the dirt path, you will find gnome homesteads complete with swimming pools, lawn ornaments, lawn chairs, and everything else a gnome could need for a comfortable life in the woods.
The trail is only 0.5 miles, but you can find more little gnome homes as you trek over the tree roots and branches next to the trail.
Check out this guide for more information about hiking the Gnome Trail in Seabrook.
Play Pickleball

Pickleball has taken over as one of the most accessible sports for people, both young and old. Whether you are totting your pickleball pallet or purchasing one at Basecamp Board & Bike, Seabrook has no shortage of opponents.
There are Pickleball Courts scattered throughout Seabrook, but don’t assume an empty court is fair game. There is an online sign-up sheet so you can reserve your spot.
Don’t know how to play pickleball? You can receive a complimentary lesson this summer! Find dates here!
In addition to Pickleball, you can also find tennis courts and badminton courts.
Drop into Mountain Biking
Along Elk Creek, east of the city, you will find 46 miles of mountain bike trails rated easy to challenging based on your experience level.
If you want to try mountain biking, Basecamp has MTB rentals available for a few hours or an entire day.
Create a Custom Candle at Loraine’s Candle Shop

The last time my partner and I visited Seabrook, we made a reservation at Loraine’s Candle Shop so we could both create custom candles. In the spirit of celebrating our Birthdays—we share the same birthday—we made each other candles!
It was super cute and fun to test out the different scents and create something that embodied each other!
The entire process took us about an hour. The candles needed to rest for two hours, so we explored the city while we waited for our candles to set.
We made larger candles with more expensive jars, which cost about $90 for two.
Book your candle pouring experience here!
Grab a Wave and Surf in Seabrook

Surfing in the Grays Harbour area is one of the best activities. Surfers along the Pacific Coast consider this part of the coast one of the best surfing areas in the PNW.
Some of the best waves can be caught south of Seabrook in Westport, WA.
Learn more about surfing in Westport here!
Surfboards can be rented throughout Seabrook, but the most popular place to rent is Basecamp.
Splash in an Outdoor Swimming Pool
One of the big draws to visiting Seabrook is how family-friendly it is! Nothing says “family-friendly” quite like all of the available outdoor pools.
Grab one of the lounge chairs next to the pool and soak up the salty air! You do need to be a community member or guest to swim at Sunrise Pool, so if you’re trying to find a place to stay for your visit and having this amenity is important to you, consider a stay in the South Farm Neighborhood of Seabrook.
Ride Around Town on a Bike

Seabrook is best experienced on a bike! If you have one, absolutely hitch it to your car and drag it along. However, if you don’t have one, you can most certainly rent one in Seabrook.
If you’re staying in Seabrook, having a bike is the perfect way to get around town and to the beach on the numerous bike paths available.
Seabrook celebrated 30 years of City Biking in 2025, if that tells you anything about how much the city loves biking around.
Hitting the Trail

Hiking in and around Seabrook is a popular activity, and the city itself utilizes trails to get between neighborhoods. The trails throughout the city are beautiful and well-maintained. These short walks are a great way to connect with nature and view the coastal flora and fauna.
One of my favorite trails is the Gnome Trail in the Mill District. It is a family-friendly trail where you can find small gnomes(literally) on the trail. It is such a fun way to experience the woods.
Some other trails include:
- Cedar Run Trail – 0.35 miles in an old-growth forest.
- Border Trail – 2.3 miles near the Ferwood neighborhood.
- Elk Creek Beach Trail – 0.26 miles along a boardwalk.
Find more trails in Seabrook here or check out their trail map.
Always check trail conditions before heading out!
Have a Beach Bonfire

There is just something about sitting around a fire on the beach that screams “summer”!
You can bring your firewood to the beach and dig out a fire pit.
Before having a beach fire, consider the following fire regulations:
- Check Fire Regulations: Make sure you can have a fire in that area, and if fire rings are required.
- Fire Location: Ensure that flammable materials, like grasses, brush, and buildings, are protected from the fire.
- Tide Location: Build your fire below the high tide line.
- Wood: Use dry firewood from where you will be having the fire.
- Extinguish Completely: Before leaving, ensure the burn area is cold to the touch.
The city of Seabrook also offers Bonfire Packages, which include camp chairs, a large Solo Stove, and firewood, making it easy to relax around a fire pit! You can learn more about the Bonfire Package here.
Visit the Historic Dorothy Anderson Cabin

If you have time and want to learn about the area, I cannot recommend the Historic Dorothy Anderson Cabin in Seabrook enough. During business hours, volunteers are available at the cabin to discuss the area’s history around the Hidden Coast Scenic Byway.
The cabin was home to Dorothy Anderson, an immigrant from Norway. Like many people then, she visited the hidden coast for clamming and decided to stay.
It is free to visit, but they do accept donations and have a small gift shop with souvenirs from the area.
For now, the Museum of North Beach can be found at the Dorothy Anderson Cabin.
Sit in The Old Cedar Stump

Another fun activity in Seabrook is visiting the Old Cedar Stump. While there are many large trees in the area, this coast was once a beautiful old-growth forest. The Old Cedar Stump is an homage to the area’s logging past.
The Old Stump, with its rich history of the timber industry, can be crawled through, sat in, and admired. There is an informational plaque you can read to learn more about the area.
Tide Pooling at Copalis Rock

If you stay close to Seabrook on the beach, you can experience excellent beachcombing, but if you’re up for a little walk, make your way down to Copalis Rock. It would be best to drive to Copalis Beach for this activity, which is a short 11-minute drive, or you can walk the five miles along the beach to get to this area.
For the best tide pooling, you will want to go at low tide. Low tide exposes many of the intertidalzone species making them easy to find and look at.
Some tide pooling tips & etiquette:
- Observe carefully – Look for small movements in crevices
- Wash your hands before and after
- Gently touch with one wet finger—If you touch animals with a dry finger, they could dry out faster.
- Walk carefully – Avoid stepping on plants, animals, and brittle features of the tide pool
Tide pooling is always fun for the family.

Go Wine Tasting at The Stowaway Wine Bar

There are plenty of dining experiences in Seabrook, but the Stowaway Wine Bar is one of my favorite places to grab a drink and a bite. The atmosphere is relaxing and elevated.
You can drink wine by the bottle, from a tasting, or by the glass.
They have a small menu of food that you can pair with your wine, including charcuterie boards, flat breads, and snacks.
In fact, I am editing this post while drinking a glass of wine at Stowaway!

Feed Your Four-Legged Friend an Ice Cream

Seabrook is extremely dog-friendly. In addition to allowing dogs to enjoy the beach, many of the shops are dog-friendly, and the restaurants offer dog-friendly seating on their patios.
However, one spot in Seabrook LOVES dogs. That would be The Salty Dog, the local dog shop.
At The Salty Dog, you can rinse your dog for free after romping around in the sand, grab a toy or two, purchase a raincoat, and get a dog-friendly ice cream!
My dog, Meatball, had the best time in The Salty Dog and gobbled down his ice cream.

Where to Stay in Seabrook

Seabrook is the perfect beach town with gorgeous waterfront properties. There are plenty of vacation rentals and a few inns to choose from. My favorite spot in the city is this dog-friendly beach cabin, but I have also stayed at this new glass glamping home in Copalis Beach (15 minutes away), which was lovely.
You can search for places to stay in the area using the map below!
Dog-Friendly Beach Cabin

When it comes to finding a vacation rental, I have a few requirements: it must be dog-friendly, convenient, and have a bedroom for everyone. However, some extras I look for are a hot tub or sauna and a fire pit.
Thankfully, this Dog-Friendly Beach Cabin met all of my requirements and had all of my extras.
You really can’t go wrong with most of the rentals in Seabrook, but I found this one especially charming and on theme.
Glass Glamping

While this glamping spot is a little outside of Seabook proper, it is worth the short drive into the city.
This cabin is magically situated in a lush forest with twinkling lights and a fire pit. It is only big enough for two people and is considered eco-friendly with a composting toilet, outdoor shower, and outdoor sink.
This is the spot if you’re looking for something private and romantic.

In the winter months, the town has a quiet and cozy atmosphere with near-consistent rain. In the summer months, you find a busy beach town in Washington State.
I keep returning to Seabrook for its hallmark vibe, salty air, and gorgeous scenery. I think you’ll do the same!
