Quebec Wilderness Trip Itinerary
Ah, Canada – a land of jaw-dropping beauty! While I’ve had the pleasure of exploring the Canadian Rockies, the opportunity to delve into the stunning wonders of another captivating region like Quebec is one I simply couldn’t resist.
Day 1: Welcome to Quebec!
As we arrive, we’ll get acquainted with our new outdoor besties for the week and receive a briefing from our expert guide on camp setup, breakdown, and meal plans. It’s essential to bond before we embark on the trail together!
Day 2: Exploring Grands-Jardins National Park
Let’s dive into the Great Gardens – the Grands-Jardins National Park. Our day will be filled with awe-inspiring hiking as we conquer Mont-du-Lac-des-Cygnes. This moderate 5.5-mile hike with 1440 ft of elevation gain treats us to the sight of lichen, moss, and arctic vegetation before reaching the summit of the Charlevoix Meteorite Crater. Simply awe-inspiring!
Day 3: Saguenay Fjord’s Majestic Hikes
Prepare for not just one but TWO epic hikes in Saguenay Fjord National Park! The Sentier de Poètes will lead us through a lichen-carpeted path to a magnificent vantage point overlooking the Saguenay Fjord. With an elevation gain of 1,400 ft and covering 6 miles, it’s a journey to remember. Next up, the Chemin Pinède provides panoramic views of the Saguenay River and the marine park as we ascend 636 ft over 4.6 miles.
Day 4: Conquer the Via Ferrata!
Today, we’ll face an extraordinary adventure as we clip in and ascend metal steps bolted into the rock, leading us to an incredible summit with mind-blowing views! A four-hour course above the fjord awaits us, and the experience will be nothing short of unforgettable. After this exhilarating adventure, we’ll explore the charming villages surrounding the fjord for some delightful sightseeing.
Day 5: Kayaking with Whales and Scenic Charlevoix
Get ready for a day of excitement and wonder! We’ll kayak along the St. Lawrence River, getting up close and personal with Humpback Whales, Belugas, and Fin Whales. An epic experience, indeed! Following the aquatic adventure, we’ll take a scenic drive through the enchanting Charlevoix Region, offering a chance to indulge in shopping, art galleries, and more sightseeing. Our evening ends with a dinner fit for royalty.
Day 6: Farewell, Not Goodbye
After preparing breakfast at camp, it’s time to pack up and head back to the airport. After an amazing trip, I’m sure it will be a “see you later” rather than a “goodbye”.
